HIGH SCHOOL

HEAR FROM THE STUDENTS

DCA is definitely different. Listen to DCA high school students give you their take on what it's like and what makes it special.

IMAGINE LEAVING HIGH SCHOOL WITH A PLAN

THE DCA ADVANTAGE

DCA graduates leave with a leg up. Not only do they get their diploma and transcripts to take with them to their next step such as college, but they also leave with a portfolio of real-world projects, a resume of real work and value created, and a little black book of references of professionals, leaders, and entrepreneurs ready to endorse them.

JUST DO WHAT JOYFUL, IMPACTFUL PEOPLE DO

THE MODEL

DEVOTIONAL & REFLECTION - research shows the most successful and joyful people pray, meditate, and reflect daily. So do we.

INDEPENDENT LEARNING - humans learn what they need to learn based on what they will apply. So DCA students knock our their required academic work efficiently to create more time for actually doing.

PROJECTS - 70% of learning happens through doing. Projects are real-world learning experiences where students choose what they want to learn or make. And then the learning sticks.

CHALLENGES - the most successful people are driven to continually push their own boundaries. DCA students choose a challenge every sprint in an area of their passion: athletics, arts, or entrepreneurship, then they do something amazing.

HOW IT WORKS

SPRINT CYCLE

DCA students work in six-week "sprints" with a one-week break in between.

A sprint is a concept first created in the software development world and now used broadly in most successful companies in the world.

Students design their sprint goals and plans for their course work, their project, and their challenge.

They track their progress each week.

Then they demonstrate their learning and growth in the Sprint Showcase.

The Showcase is a public forum where students teach, show, and share the results of their courses, projects, and challenges. Parents usually join and add fresh perspective, encouragement, and opportunities.
